"The best editing programme I recommend to newcomers to video production and editing is the all so famous Windows Movie Maker. Now this editing system is originally on ANY Windows installed and vary's in versions by the version of Windows you have, from Windows 95 (Least updated) to Windows Vista (Most updated) So if you left-click Start/Windows Icon then All Programs and look on the list, it should be on All Programs. Run it from there."

"Now for Apple Mac users this will not be possible as Windows is a different operating system and is not run by Windows so you can use the Mac version of Movie Maker. iMovie will allow you to do the same.

I recommend to amateurs of editing to just experiment with different effects, audio changes, transitions etc instead of watching YouTube tutorials as you will learn more about video editing and will have a more vast ammount of information than you would if you watched a tutorial"

"Moving onto Novice editors. Now I recommend you use these programmes if your just about inbetween Amateur and Pro. So the first editing programme I recommend you to use is Sony Vegas Pro. This has all features of Platinum Pro (plus some professional editing features also) and this system is a Big step from Movie Maker or iMovie as it varys from a wide variety of Video FX, Transitions, Ability to Pan/Crop your clips and also possibly the best feature to use on this system, Chroma Keyer but best known as Green Screen'ing; which allows you to record a clip with a backdrop as ONE colour only (preferrably Green or Blue) and a single (or multiple) objects and targets in front of the screen. With the ability to remove the backdrop and fill it with any background or setting you like, this gives for a full 100% smooth Professional looking video!"

"The Next editing Programme I am going to recommend is not usually a naturally popular programme for actually compiling a full video due to Sony Vegas being into one and of course I'm talking about Adobe Premiere CS. Now this programme I have only used twice and to me it does not fit to my standards of editing and does not refer to me as good as Vegas does however it has a really smooth and sweet interface and easy to use layout so even though I don't recommend this to myself I recommend it to you and if you have a Mac I 100% recommend it to you due to Sony Vegas not able to cope on a Apple Operating System."

Finally for the Professionals!
If your professional by now you should know all programmes but if you do not I will recommend some anyway! Anyway the programmes I recommend now should be mixed together as they work best together and also one of them is a visual effects programme and the other is a 3d manipulation client. Now I'm talking about Visual Effects programme, Adobe After Effects CS and 3D Manipulation space, 3D Studio Max. Both programmes combine by following the facts that AE supports 3D space and manipulation during render time. So for instance creating a 3D model in 3ds Max and then throwing it into AE you would have an unlimited ammount of options to choose from. Such as CGI movement manipulation, Introduction manipulation and much, much more! I also recommend combining both AE and 3ds with Adobe Photoshop Also as that also supports 3D Manipulation and would make the transition of model from 3ds to AE much easier and faster. After Effects is a system I use ALL the time. So the popular JumpTek Video Intro you see on our videos was created in AE and future ones also will. So think of the capabilities of the system and believe it or not you can do much, much more with it!

Oh and one more thing recommended from me and when I say this DONT ignore me. What I'm going to say is... HAVE FUN! =D
because I'm telling you, if you have a creative mind on you. You will LOVE AE because coming from me who has used it for years, personally to me it is 100% additive and I can't stop using it!
